Host rainbow-filled night at home - with family or online.
If you’re going digital, you can use Google Hangouts, or the House Party app to bring everyone together. Watch a film on Netflix or take turns with DJ duties! Encourage friends to donate what they’d spend on a night out on the town and support LGBTIQ youth.
2. Rainbow Dinner
If your speed is less big night out and more Sunday roast, host a Sunday social with a digital (or real-life) dinner party! Skip bringing the wine or box of Favourites and donate instead. Catch up online, comparing rainbow dinner set-ups, and having a rejuvenating great night in.
3. Rainbow Home Office
Grab a Pride Desk Pack to turn your next digital team meeting into a rainbow affair. You’ll be decked out with a poster, flag, pens and lanyard – all you need to champion inclusivity, be visible in your pride or allyship, and remind co-workers that discrimination has no place online or offline.
GO RAINBOW
Deck your home out with rainbows! 100% of proceeds from every single purchase goes towards supporting LGBTIQ youth Australia-wide.
How good is celebrating sexual and gender diversity? Thank you for your work. Don’t forget to post photos, blogs and let the world know about your work.
Send out a thank you note or download our thank you certificate to give to everyone involved. If you raised money, announce how much in the newsletter or in assembly.
KEEP THE GOOD VIBES FLOWING
1. Start a Stand Out group
Create a student led Stand Out group (also known as Queer-Straight Alliances or Diversity Groups). Stand Out groups are a great way to support LGBTI students all year round. For tips on how to start one, check out the Stand Out resource.
2. Celebrate LGBTI History Month
October is LGBTI+ History Month, a chance to learn more about the inspiring history of LGBTI people and events. Mark it in your calendar and download the schools toolkit for Year 7 - 11.
3. Book a Minus18 Workshop
Book a Minus18 workshop on LGBTI diversity. Minus18 workshops are run by young people and are a great way to start conversations on how to make schools safer for LGBTI students.
